The Washington State Association of Broadcasters has named Jim Rose its president and CEO.

Rose succeeds Keith Shipman, who had served in the role since 2016.

“Jim Rose is one of the most respected broadcasters in the Pacific Northwest,” Neal Boling, chairman of the WSAB board of directors, said in a release.

Rose brings more than three decades of experience in the media industry, including leadership tenures at KING(TV) in Seattle and KRON(TV) in San Francisco.

He previously served as chair of the WSAB board of directors in 2021 and was later a member of the board for the California Broadcasters Association.

Rose has been recognized for his commitment to diversity in the workplace, the release said, receiving the Puget Sound Business Journal’s Outstanding Voice Award and a Distinguished Alumni Award from his alma mater, Indiana University of Pennsylvania.

Rose begins his new role on June 15.
