RAB’s Cornils to Be Remembered

RAB's Cornils to Be Remembered

An industry-wide memorial service is scheduled tentatively for Wednesday, Sept. 20, just prior to the opening of the NAB Radio Show in San Francisco, in honor of Wayne Cornils, who died July 5 in Colorado Springs.
Cornils most recently served the Radio Advertising Bureau as executive vice president of meetings, a post he held for nine years. His nearly 50-year radio career included stints as an on-air announcer, engineer and station manager, to the head of radio at NAB.
“Wayne had a tremendous impact on this industry,” stated Gary Fries, president and CEO of RAB and long-time friend.
“His commitment to radio was a model and inspiration for many of us. We hope this service will give everyone whose life and career he touched an opportunity to honor his memory.”
Memorial contributions can be made in Cornils’ honor to the Broadcast Foundation Endowment Fund or The Roaring Fork Conservancy in Basalt, Colo.
Cornils is survived by his wife, Wendy Green, three grown children and several grandchildren.
