Following the recent ministerial decree on the transition to digital radio in France, British firm RadioScape announced it would extend its product line to support all the standards specified.

The decree specified Digital Radio Mondiale (DRM) for the AM band, the T-DMB implementation of the DAB standard for both VHF band III and L band, and the likely incorporation of the DAB+ standard.

According to RadioScape Chief Executive John Hall, the decree constitutes a “breakthrough moment” for the French radio market. “Finally, the transition to digital has begun and, as expected, both DAB and DRM standards are joint winners,” he said.

“We will support both the receiver market with our multi-standard module product line, as well as the broadcast market with our proven DAB broadcast systems.
