The Flashman II from Mayah makes it possible for radio reporters to simultaneously record and submit audio to the studio via IP.
The portable digital recorder has two switchable mic/line inputs with XLR connectors, as well as two headphone/line outputs. The unit records to both SD cards and USB sticks. It supports PCM WAV, MPEG layer II and layer III, and MPEG-4 HE-AAC v2 encoding. Users can set marks for later editing during recording or playback.
In addition to an Ethernet interface, the Flashman II offers an optional PCMCIA adapter for WLAN/Wi-Fi or UMTS/3G/3.5G and 4G connectivity.
The feature-set includes an intelligent soft-limiter to avoid distortions due to input overload, various profiles and presets for recording and transmission, as well as their back-up onto a storage medium, and also remote control via IP.
