The portable digital recorder has two switchable mic/line inputs with XLR connectors, as well as two headphone/line outputs. The unit records to both SD cards and USB sticks. It supports PCM WAV, MPEG layer II and layer III, and MPEG-4 HE-AAC v2 encoding. Users can set marks for later editing during recording or playback.

In addition to an Ethernet interface, the Flashman II offers an optional PCMCIA adapter for WLAN/Wi-Fi or UMTS/3G/3.5G and 4G connectivity.
