RTÉ Transmission Network Ltd. is upgrading the Irish national FM radio transmission infrastructure with the help of Radio Frequency Systems (RFS).
Phase one of the project, covering Clermont Carn, Kippure and Mount Leinster, was completed in August 2006. The rest of the sites will be finished by year-end 2007.
RFS is supplying two five-channel CA Series FM balanced combiner systems for each of the sites. They can be tuned to any frequency in VHF band II and offer 25 kW per narrowband input.
The upgrade project is being carried out in conjunction with installation partner In House Technologies and transmitter manufacturer Ecreso.
