RSH Offers Aurus Training

For use on its advanced audio engineering courses, the Robert Schumann Hochschule (RSH) university of music has installed Salzbrenner Stagetec technology in its 7.1 control room.

For use on its advanced audio engineering courses, the Robert Schumann Hochschule (RSH) university of music has installed Salzbrenner Stagetec technology in its 7.1 control room.

The 7.1 control room in Düsseldorf, Germany, now centers around a 56-fader Aurus console and Nexus routing system.

In addition to delivering the console and routing system, Salzbrenner Stagetec Mediagroup designed and implemented the studio and ancillary rooms, which officially opened in late June.

“We opted for Aurus and Nexus because of the Aurus’s outstanding 7.1 performance and because we needed an audio network with the most flexible systems architecture possible,” said Werner Roth, professor of music production at the RSH music and media institute.

“Another plus,” said Roth, “was that this system is in use in a large number of broadcasting institutions and events centers — thus, it provides a practical and future-oriented working environment for the students.”

The Nexus system includes the Nexus Star required by Aurus, a stationary Nexus Base Device in the control room and an additional mobile Nexus Base Device. The RSH installation also features five mobile workstations.
