Rupert Neve Will Speak at AES

The AES also announced that Rupert Neve will be its keynote speaker, addressing the convention on Friday, Oct. 7. His speech will focus on “the satisfactory recording, storage and reproduction of sound.”
Neve’s career dates to repairing radios in Argentina during World War II. Later in England he converted a retired U.S. Army ambulance into a mobile studio, recording events on 78 RPM lacquer disks.
He is known for his development work in recording consoles, including pioneering use of transistors, moving fader automation and machine control.
