RUSA Launches Visual Radio Presence

Morning show is now live streaming, and full launch is expected in early January

We’ve been telling you a lot about radio organizations launching or expanding their video presence. Now RUSA is doing just that.

As of Dec. 5, the Brooklyn, N.Y.-based, Russian-language organization is streaming live video from 7 to 11 a.m. weekday mornings. You may recall that Radio World profiled Anna Pekerman and RUSA earlier this year in an ebook about programming on HD Radio subchannels. Separately, Radio World recently hosted a Visual Radio Symposium; and this is a real-life example of the kind of material covered during that event.

According to an email from President/CEO Anna Pekerman, the “full launch” of video for all RUSA programming is scheduled for Jan. 2. The station is also highlighting its expanded online presence with a promotional video.

Pekerman said the addition of video has been made using gear from Axia and AVRA, with DataCast as the streaming provider.

RUSA is heard on iHeart digital subchannels WWPR(HD-2) in New York, WMIB(HD-2) in Miami and WIOQ(HD-2) in Philadelphia, and on the iHeartRadio app.
