Salem Stations Will Be Heard on iHeartRadio

Christian broadcaster gets on the heart train

Radio broadcast companies continue to sign alliances with Clear Channel’s iHeartRadio platform.

Christian radio biggie Salem Communications is now on board. “Under the agreement, Salem’s 97 AM and FM radio stations from 37 markets will be available on the iHeartRadio platform beginning September 2012,” the companies announced.

Salem emphasized that it will continue to stream its stations on the respective station websites.

The announcement was made by Brian Lakamp, president of Clear Channel Media and Entertainment Digital, and David Santrella, president of Salem’s Radio Division. Santrella described iHeartRadio as “a dominant player in the space.”

Broadcasters that have put their content on iHeartRadio include Cumulus, Greater Media, Educational Media Foundation, Univision Radio, L.A. public stations KCRW(FM) and KUSC(FM) and New York public WNYC.
