Senators Seek Adelstein Re-Nomination

Several ranking Senate Commerce Committee members are asking the Bush administration to re-nominate Jonathan Adelstein as an FCC commissioner. His term ended a year ago and if he doesn’t receive a recess appointment, he would have to leave his post when Congress adjourns this fall. Adelstein has been a supporter of digital radio.
Committee Chairman John McCain, R-Ariz.; joined Byron Dorgan, D-N.D.; “Fritz” Hollings, D-S.C.; Conrad Burns, R-Mont. and Daniel Inouye, D-Hawaii in a letter supporting the re-nomination.
