Sennheiser, maker of microphones and headphones, has announced that it is “integrating” Klein + Hummel, a German speaker maker with which it has had a close relationship for several years.
Sennheiser spokesman Volker Bartels stated: “Neumann and Sennheiser are firmly established in the studio and installed sound areas, respectively, and promise a much better market penetration than is at present under the name of Klein + Hummel.”
It is expected that Neumann will handle K+H’s studio monitors while Sennheiser will take responsibility for the installed/live sound portfolio.
Since 2005 Sennheiser has handled worldwide distribution, development and sales for Klein + Hummel. The company said it is expected that most K+H employees will be retained by Sennheiser.
