The system uses the Intraplex T1/E1 multiplexer or NetXpress IP multiplexer platform with GPS digital timing to enable a network of transmitters to increase coverage areas and reduce interference, especially in geographical regions with difficult terrains.

The product is estimated to begin shipping this spring.

The company said SynchroCast3 is improved through higher frequency sampling, new alert/alarm reporting features, simplified management and easy integration into existing SynchroCast installations.

“The solution features a more efficient use of network bandwidth by the timing system, allowing users to allocate additional bandwidth to voice and data transmission,” the company stated.

“With SynchroCast3, radio broadcast system operators can install a simulcast radio system on a single channel or an entire radio system without having to install a completely new system. For legacy point-to-point systems, SynchroCast3T uses either T1 or E1 transmission lines readily available from Telco carriers or via private networks. These can be traditional land-based or microwave links.”

The system also can be added to Intraplex NetXpress for stations transporting program audio or voice traffic and signaling over IP networks. One Synchrocast3 studio installation can synchronize audio at multiple sites. “By compensating for jitter, NetXpress enables the audio or voice signal to be accurately timed as it reaches the various transmitters included within the network.”

NetXpress users also can monitor the operation from a central location in the studio.
