SwXtch.io will use the IBC show to introduce “abbe,” a name that stands for “AI-Based Broadcast Engineer.”
It describes abbe as a cloud-agnostic orchestration layer that is able to deploy live media and AI workflows across any provider including Microsoft Azure, Oracle Cloud Infrastructure and Amazon Web Services.
It says this new tool is designed to remove infrastructure and networking complexity in live media workflows.
“Abbe removes the requirement for operators to configure networks, cloud infrastructure, compute resources and AI software in media routing and interface workflows,” it said, adding that it is relevant to television and radio as well as other contexts.
“Abbe takes a conversational description of the desired outcome and deploys the necessary infrastructure, networking and software required to make the workflow run and does so in the most economical way while meeting performance requirements.”
“Workloads are located based on user requirements including optimizations for cost and latency, without forcing the operator to design a different solution for each cloud environment.”
At IBC the company will discuss abbe’s applications for managing live media transport and deploying AI into production workflows. Its plan include a demo of live processing workflows using NVIDIA models and other partners.
Abbe will be demoed at the Microsoft booth, 14.A70. A presentation featuring abbe will be available at the Oracle booth, 5.A21, and NVIDIA is in Booth 1.BS5.
