It might be Nautel’s golden anniversary but the company plans to be the one giving gifts at this year’s NUG@NAB meeting. During the event — scheduled from 9 a.m.–12:30 p.m. on April 7 at the Flamingo Las Vegas — the company will celebrate by handing out 50 prizes.
Also new this year, Ted Nahil, who recently joined the company, will host a panel exploring the “Future of AM” featuring Beasley Media Group CTO and EVP of Engineering Mike Cooney; Townsquare Media VP of Engineering and NRSC AM & FM Analog Broadcasting Subcommittee Chair Martin Stabbert; Xperi Broadcast Technology Senior Manager Mike Raide; and Hubbard Radio D.C. Senior Broadcast Engineer David Kolesar.
But the agenda has some familiar features too, including the free lunch. Nautel Central U.S. Regional Sales Manager Jeff Welton will emcee. “With this being Nautel’s 50th anniversary, we are looking not only at the past 50 years of broadcast transmission but what’s ahead for the industry in the future,” Welton said in a press release.
(Be sure to congratulate Welton; the Association of Public Radio Engineers recognized him as the 2019 Engineering Achievement Award Recipient; and he was recently named Educator of the Year by the Society of Broadcast Engineers.)
Also, Radio World Editor in Chief Paul McLane will reprise his speaking role during the annual NUG@NAB Radio Technology Forum. McLane will highlight “What Not to Miss at NAB” to kickstart the week.
Attendance is free, but registration is required. Sign up online.
