Sirius Home, Multi Zone Units Coming

Sirius and Kenwood are rolling out the satcaster’s first home radio in October. Radio World first brought readers this news in January from CES. The Kenwood DT-7000S, allows consumers to play Sirius’ 100 streams of digital entertainment over home audio systems. The Kenwood DT-7000S will retail for $299.99 and includes the capability to display and catalogue the names of songs and artists.
Antex Electronics is introducing Sirius’ unit designed for use in multi-room and in multi-zone audio systems. The three-zone Sirius receiver, SRX-3 TriplePlay, consolidates multiple tuners into a single component, allowing listeners in different rooms to play different Sirius streams simultaneously over a single distributed audio system. The SRX-3, suitable for home or commercial use, will be available in November and will list for $1,695.
