Sirius, XACT Release Plug & Play Satellite Receiver

The newest plug and play Sirius Satellite Radio is out. The Sirius XACT XTR1 “Stream Jockey” plug and play satellite radio, manufactured by XACT Communication, will be first introduced via the Home Shopping Network on, Aug. 14 from 11 a.m. Eastern and 9 p.m. that night.
The new unit looks like a cell phone and includes an internal FM transmitter for wireless connection, 18 presets and an integrated headphone input and volume controls.
The XACT “Stream Jockey” can be used as a stand-alone receiver, connected to speakers or headphones. It can also be wirelessly connected to a vehicle’s in-dash radio, or home stereo system, like other plug and play satellite radios.
The Home Shopping Network will feature the first units available on the market. General distribution and availability through mobile electronics stores will be in September. The companies plan to have boomboxes and other options available in the fourth quarter.
The XACT “Stream Jockey” lists for $99.99 with $59.99 for the universal docking station that can be used in the car or the home.
The Home Shopping Network will feature the unit on Aug. 14 at $149, including a universal docking station.
