TASCAM has introduced the RX-BT10, a professional-grade audio receiver that enables audio from Bluetooth devices such as smartphones and tablets to be integrated into existing sound systems.
“With a compact and robust form factor that includes balanced XLR outputs, the RX-BT10 can be easily connected to any device for incorporating Bluetooth audio into a wide range of temporary or installed sound reinforcement environments,” said TASCAM in a release.
Support for Bluetooth 5.1 (Class 1) is among the RX-BT10’s key attributes, said TASCAM. This feature facilitates long-distance, high-stability connections, which for Class 1 devices is approximately 328 feet.
In addition to the Bluetooth pairing button, the unit also provides a front-panel Euroblock port that lets users add a remote pairing button.

“The RX-BT10’s dual output options facilitate the ability to be connected to a wide range of sound systems,” said TASCAM in the release. “This includes balanced XLR outputs as well as unbalanced stereo RCA outputs.” The unit is also equipped with a switchable Stereo/Mono output.
TASCAM said the RX-BT10’s metal enclosure provides peace of mind and the receiver’s half-rack form factor fits into a standard equipment rack. “Mounting points on the top and bottom panels enable the RX-BT10 to be attached to practically anything, and a bracket kit for mounting on a shelf or under a desk is included,” it said. TASCAM also offers the optional AK-RS1, a 1U rack-mountable shelf that provides additional integration options, including the ability to mount two units side by side.
TASCAM Product Specialist Sean Daily commented on the new RX-BT10, saying: “It enables, for example, people to use their devices for background music as opposed to having to set up a separate device. Bluetooth pairing is a snap and since each RX-BT10 has its own unique ID for easy identification, people needn’t worry about stepping on other people’s signals when used in close proximity, such as a facility where there are multiple meeting rooms.”
