Sirius XM Has a White Christmas

Channels devoted to Bing Crosby run through Christmas

When it comes to doing Christmas radio, Sirius XM doesn’t Scrooge around!

The satellite radio company is devoting a whole channel, heard on each service, to Bing Crosby and his Christmas holiday tunes and shows. The station will be hosted by Crosby’s widow, Kathryn, his daughter Mary and sons Nathaniel and Harry. They’ll provide bumpers, intros, stories and family memories.

The channel will feature excerpts from Der Bingle’s numerous Christmas radio shows from the 1940s, ’50s and ’60s. Included amongst the skits, songs, duets and other musical numbers will be Bob Hope, Rosemary Clooney, Frank Sinatra, Judy Garland, Ella Fitzgerald, Peggy Lee, Johnny Mercer, The Andrews Sisters and Jimmy Stewart. And, of course, plenty of Crosby’s holiday tunes. Perhaps they’ll shoehorn a “White Christmas” in somewhere.

The channels will air through Dec. 26 on Sirius Channel 113 and XM Channel 118.

Here’s their full holiday lineup.
