Satcaster SiriusXM wants you to know it is serious about the Fourth of July. A release explains that it will “present special 4th of July programming across its music, talk and sports channels.”
To wit, SiriusXM will have a number of specials and concerts (a few reruns) featuring, in a random order, Cher, Tina Fey, Glenn Beck, Howard Stern, Opie & Anthony, Selena Gomez and Melissa McCarthy. Though none of these seem to have a Fourth of July theme to them.
It looks to be up to John Fogerty playing his “classic all-American rockers” on “Classic Vinyl” and Bret Michael’s airing his “ultimate 4th of July Playlist” on “Hair Nation” to wave the flag and shoot-off a few virtual bottle rockets.
But if you scroll down a ways deeply at their Spend 4th of July With SiriusXM website you can find some more thematic Fourth of July programming.
Promising “we’ll feature patriotic songs throughout the day,” “’40s” will be spinning “’40s on Fourth.” “SiriusXM Pops with Preston Trombly” offers (or threatens) “America the Beautiful … All Day Long.” Jimmy Buffett’s “Radio Margaritaville” says it has having a Fourth of July Block Party. Not to be outdone is Cosmo Radio’s “4th of July BBQ Cookout.”
The Band Perry appears live with the Nashville-Symphony concert from Riverfront Park in Nashville in “Let Freedom Sing!”
