Author to talk tech at spring show Technology Luncheon

Author and technology guru Steven Johnson will headline the NAB Technology Luncheon at the NAB Show on April 13.

According to a release, Johnson will speak about innovation and how to generate it. Apropos, Johnson’s newest book is “Where Good Ideas Come From: The Natural History of Innovation.” He also is the author of “Everything Bad Is Good for You: How Today’s Popular Culture Is Actually Making Us Smarter.”

Johnson has written for The Wall Street Journal, The New York Times and The Nation. He has been Hearst New Media Professional-in-Residence at Columbia University School of Journalism. He often lectures on science, technology and culture.

The Technology Luncheon will be the setting for the delivery of the NAB Engineering Achievement Awards, the Technology Innovation Awards and Best Paper Award (for NAB Broadcast Engineering Conference Proceedings papers).

NAB Honors Arno Meyer

Arno Meyer, president and founder of Belar Electronics Laboratory Inc. in Devon, Pa., will be honored with NAB’s Radio Engineering Achievement Award during the Technology Luncheon on Wednesday, April 25, at the NAB2001 convention.
