Sweep in N.J. Results in Notices to Alleged Pirates

Activity centered around the Orange area

Here comes Round Three. Another new round of letters — the third roundup involving dozens of individuals since mid-November — has been sent to alleged operators of unlicensed stations in New York and New Jersey as part of the Federal Communications Commissions’ ongoing attempt to stamp out pirate operations.

This time around, agents scoured through Orange, N.J. — that’s Orange proper, East Orange and West Orange too. In Orange, both Nestor Sanango and Oakwood Avenue Properties were notified of allegedly unlicensed operation on frequency 91.7 MHz. Others caught up in the sweep in Orange were Mackinson Desna, who was notified about alleged operation on 88.7 MHz; Chandra Paul Arjun for alleged unlicensed operation on frequency 95.1 MHz; and Sanjiv Jain on three frequencies: 88.7 MHz, 107.7 MHz, and 96.9 MHz in Orange.

In West Orange, Kacy Rankine was notified of alleged unlicensed operation on frequency 90.1 MHz, while over in East Orange, Derrick Powell was notified for alleged unlicensed operation on frequency 99.9 MHz.

The Enforcement Bureau also handed a notice to N12 Realty LLC, which was notified of alleged unlicensed operation on frequency 90.1 MHz in Newark, N.J., on the same day.
