National radio sales jumped in October, helping overall U.S. radio sales figures edge up 1% for the month, the Radio Advertising Bureau reported.
Local revenue was off 1%. National sales, though, had its best month in the last six, and were up 6% over last October.
Non-spot revenue grew 11%, bringing the total for all combined radio revenue up 1% in October compared to the same month last year.
For the first 10 months of this year, sales are tracking up 2% and total radio revenue (including non-spot) is up 3%.
“The national sector’s return to healthy figures will help radio finish the year with modest, but positive, results,” said RAB’s Gary Fries.
