Tieline Adds New AAC Codecs

AAC Becomes an Option for Bridge-IT IP Codec

Australia-based codec maker Tieline Technology has announced the addition of MPEG-4 AAC-LC, HE-AAC v1 and HE-AAC v2 codecs as options for the Bridge-IT IP codec.

Tieline International Marketing Manager Darren Levy explained, “AAC’s high quality, high error resilience and comparatively low latency over IP has become so popular amongst broadcasters that it is now one of the optional algorithms recommended by the UBU for implementation into N/ACIP-compatible IP codecs.”

He added, “The integration of the Ittiam AAC algorithms into Bridge-IT is a significant step forward and extends our algorithm capability over IP… It also expands the range of compatible algorithms that customers can use when connecting with other codec brands over IP.” Ittiam Systems is an algorithm developer based in India.

The Bridge-IT is an IP codec introduced in 2009.
