Tower Buys in Elmira

EMF sells to Florida Sun

Notices of a couple of recent radio station sales have crossed the Radio World sales desk.

Following up, partially, on our story about the July sale of the formerly classical music stations of Classical South Florida to the Educational Media Foundation, EMF is selling one of them to a local broadcaster owner. WLVO(FM) in the Ft. Myers area is being acquired by Ft. Myers-based Sun Broadcasting. According to broker Hadden & Associates the price was $3,045,000.

Further north, Tower Broadcasting has acquired a cluster in Elmira, N.Y., from Pembrook Pines Ltd. The stations are WEHH(AM), WELM(AM), WLVY(FM) and WOKN(FM). In addition, four area translators were included. Richard A. Foreman Associates brokered the deal.
