Volvo Offers Dolby Pro Logic II Across Vehicle Line

Volvo is offering Dolby’s Pro Logic II surround sound technology as an option across its entire 2006 vehicle line, the first automaker to do so, according to Dolby, one of four groups involved in trying to adapt their surround sound technology to HD Radio.
The automaker is offering the surround sound technology in the C70 convertible, launched this week at the Frankfurt Motor Show.
Dolby says Pro Logic II provides a realistic surround sound experience from two-channel stereo content. The Dolby surround sound logo will be featured on the dashboard or start-up screen of the audio system in each Volvo vehicle equipped with surround sound.
Dolby Pro Logic II allows customers to simulate a home theater experience on the road, according to a Volvo representative.
