Codec maker APT, recently acquired by the Audemat Group, has placed a WorldCast Horizon IP codec system at WLYC(AM) in Williamsport, Pa. WLYC is an ESPN affiliate.
The Horizon is attached to a T1 line feeding a transmitter and receiving programming from a satellite dish. With the Horizon and the T1 line connecting the transmitter/satellite dish site, WLYC can also now remotely monitor and control the transmitter and satellite equipment.
The general manager of WLYC/ESPN Williamsport is Todd Bartley. The sale and installation was care of JPP Communications of State College, Pa.
