XM Canada Launches

XM Canada has launched its satellite service with an offer to its “Founders Club” to buy radios online. The company, owned by Toronto entrepreneur John Bitove and partnered with XM Satellite Radio, said 4,500 Canadians pre-registered for the satellite radio service. They will be the first to be able to purchase XM radios online and begin subscribing. The first 1,000 Founders Club members to order will receive a discount on the Delphi RoadyXT, according to XM Canada.
Starting next week, portable and plug-and-play XM radios will be available at retailers. XM radios will also be available on XM Canada’s Web site.
Sirius Canada plans to begin broadcasting next month.
