XM, Sirius File Merger Proposal

XM and Sirius filed their nearly 70-page merger proposal with the FCC this week.

XM and Sirius filed their nearly 70-page merger proposal with the FCC this week.

In the documents, the companies state their position that a merger would benefit the public and not reduce competition in audio entertainment.

The application repeats claims that XM and Sirius executives have made publicly but does little to explain how they would be met.

“The merger will not harm competition in any market, because a combined satellite radio provider will have no market power, let alone be able to dominate the market,” they state in the filing.
