This series features products that won the Radio World Best of Show Award at the 2026 IBC Show. Winners were chosen for their innovation, feature set, cost efficiency and performance in serving the industry.

With this tool you can mix from anywhere via web browser and centralize your mixing resources on one server or appliance.

Wheatstone calls VMX a new spin on mixing, a virtual mixing platform for adding to studios, production rooms, voicetrack booths and remote mixing instances on demand without big cap-ex costs.

“Simply install VMX on a server and spin up virtual mixers as needed,” it says.

VMX comes with tiles — types of virtual mixers from basic virtual mixer interfaces or utilities to full virtual broadcast consoles.

You enter the URL in a Chrome or Safari browser, and a virtual console comes up on your phone, tablet, laptop or studio touchscreen.

The virtual mixers can serve as permanent additions to a WheatNet IP audio networked facility or for setting up a temporary or remote studio quickly.

“Instead of AoIP mix engines sitting in a rack, mixing instances can be created when and where and how you need them, all done through a virtual mix engine platform that can be deployed on just about any commercial server, PC based unit, or dedicated appliance,” it says.

VMX is AES67-compliant for interoperability within SMPTE ST 2110 facilities and scalable from large enterprise systems to the VMX Nano for remote or emergency broadcast applications.
