Cable maker General Cable has developed a water-resistant HydroBloc line of cables for its Gepco brand. The company describes the cable as “ideal for indoor/outdoor applications and for use in wet locations inside conduit.”
Construction uses a two-ply water-blocking tape, water-swellable filler (except in coax cables) and a sunlight- and moisture-resistant jacket with a ripcord.
The cables are UL-rated and in compliance with the TIA-455-82-B water penetration test, according to the company.
The HydroBloc line encompasses data or power control, multi-pair audio, general purpose audio, speaker, communications, power-limited circuits, low-voltage industrial process control, CATV and HDTV needs, according to a release.
