Audio-Technica has announced the release of its AT2020USB-X cardioid condenser USB microphone.

The company says the USB mic is a “reimagining” of its AT2020USB+, designed with the needs of musicians, streamers, podcasters and other content creators in mind.
Audio-Technica says the AT2020USB-X microphone offers the same sound as the original AT2020, but is upgraded to a 24-bit/96 kHz sampling rate with plug-and-play USB-C operation. It retails for $149.
Other improvements to the mic include a soft-touch capacitive button to quickly and silently mute audio, an A/D converter with a 24-bit/96 kHz sampling rate and an improved desk stand.
The AT2020USB-X also features a built-in headphone jack with volume and mix control, which Audio-Technica said can blend the microphone signal with computer audio.
A 3/8″–16 to 5/8″–27 threaded adapter, a desk stand and a 2.0 m (6.6-foot) USB-C to USB-A cable and adapter are included with purchase.
