To celebrate its 15 years on the air, Z Radio Live partnered with Vintage Microphones to produce a one-of-a-kind mic for its studios. The microphone is an Electro-Voice RE-320, a popular make. Its new color scheme, however, is sure to turn some heads.
Self-marketed as “The Web’s Hit Music Station,” Z Radio Live plays commercial-free Top-40 and alternative hits. In a press release, the station said the Electro-Voice mic is usually only produced in black and silver, until now that is.
Z Radio Live said the team at Vintage Microphones was “successfully able to execute from disassembly of the original black body, to the coating process.”
Now, the main mic is set apart by its unique coloring — a vibrant green to match the station’s branding.
Zach Feldman, president of ZLF Productions Inc. and owner of Z Radio Live, says the custom mic is a “dream come true,” not to mention an aesthetic addition to the studio space as the station continues to grow.
“Thank you to everyone who has kept us on the air for 15-plus years,” said Feldman. “Your support means the world to me and everyone who is a part of this fantastic radio station.”
