For people who work around RF, a new RF Awareness Booklet has been released by NATE: The Communications Infrastructure Contractors Association.
The updated booklet provides an overview of radiofrequency/electromagnetic energy as well as information on the hazards associated with overexposure, hazard mitigation and basic antenna identification techniques.
The document, which is $120 to download (free to NATE members), includes information on energized structures, broadcast, wireless and small cell antennas. NATE said the booklet is meant to serve as an easy-to-understand guide that can be used in the field or by someone outside of the industry who is looking for a better understanding of RF energy.
While the handbook does not replace conventional RF awareness training, it is designed to augment RF safety documentation by providing a quick-reference resource to support conventional training, the organization said.
