Vibes Media, a company that develops mobile applications and provides marketing services, said it’s received a patent for a radio text messaging platform for interactive mobile campaigns.
In the six years Vibes has been developing the platform, it says it has delivered more than 600 million SMS messages.
Vibes’ VP of Integrated Sales and Marketing Alan Simkowski said radio can use text messaging to deliver more value to advertisers. By accessing a password protected Web based interface, station personnel can create promotions, opt-in alert databases, mobile coupon offers and customized sales solutions for any type of advertiser, he said.
Emmis Communications is using the Vibe product, which has turned out to be a good tool to grow and optimize its messaging business, according to Emmis SVP/CTO Paul Brenner.
