Czech Radio Now on DAB+ in Pilsen

Today, over half the population of the Czech Republic is covered by digital radio

PILSEN, Czech Republic�Czech Radio was launched in Pilsen on DAB digital radio onMay 6, according to World DAB. A special launch event took place that allowed participants will learn all about DAB digital radio, to have the opportunity to experience the functionality and design of the latest digital radio receivers, and of course listen to DAB digital radio live on-air.

Czech Radio has been broadcasting on DAB since 2011 and on DAB+ since May of 2013. Today, over half the population of Czech Republic is covered by digital radio. Listeners in Pilsen can tune in to DAB+ on channel 10A; in South Bohemia on channel 5D; and, in Prague and environs on channel 12C.

There are now over 30 radio stations broadcast on DAB in Czech Republic, including all of Czech Radio’s programs. DAB is the de-facto digital broadcasting standard used in a number of countries throughout Europe, Asia and the Pacific, currently serving almost 2000 broadcasting stations across the world and with over 46 million DAB/DAB+ receivers have been sold globally.
