They’ll Tee Off Once Again for Beeler

I tip my tam to the folks who have kept Scott Beeler’s memory alive with their annual golf outing.

Sometimes, well-intended events like this can peter out after a year or two; but by all accounts the Scott Beeler Memorial Golf Outing is going strong. Friends and colleagues of the late broadcast equipment sales executive will again tee off in his memory this spring.

The ninth annual event will take place at the Revere at Anthem course in Las Vegas on Saturday April 9 starting at 7:30 a.m., in a four-person scramble format. Rental clubs are available if you don’t feel like lugging your bag through McCarran International.

Cam Eicher of SAS is coordinating. “You can expect lots of elevation changes, and some stunning vistas of the Vegas Valley and surrounding mountains,” he says.

The Revere is holding open slots for 40 golfers. Confirmations are due soon. Eicher says the discounted entry fee remains $160 per player, $640 per foursome, with funds due in advance.

Beeler died in 2002; he held prominent management and sales positions with ERI, Harris Corp. and Allied.

“Thanks for helping keep Scott’s memory alive,” Eicher wrote in an e-mail. “We all miss him, and I believe this tournament is a fitting tribute to his memory.”
