Jennifer Seelig has been promoted to director of news and programming for legacy all-news station KCBS (AM) in San Francisco, Entercom Communications announced. In addition, across the country in New York the company also promoted Alex Silverman to assistant director of news and programming for another legacy news station, WCBS(AM). Both stations can trace their roots back to the 1920s.

Seelig has been with KCBS(AM) since 2001, most recently as acting news director and prior to that, as assistant news director.

Silverman will help manage the day-to-day news coverage for the station, its website and social media channels in addition to his current reporting and anchoring responsibilities. Silverman is also an adjunct instructor at Fordham University, where he designed a course titled “Social Media for Journalists.”

Silverman received a regional Edward R. Murrow Award in 2017 for “Excellence in Sound.” He was also a part of WCBS’s award-winning coverage of Hurricane Sandy in 2012.

Prior to joining WCBS in 2011, he was a reporter and anchor at KIRO(FM) in Seattle from 2010–2011, and from 2008–2010 he was a reporter and morning news anchor at WSYR(AM) in Syracuse, N.Y.

Entercom is headquartered in Philadelphia.
