Seattle Radio Days

New book from Arcadia recounts Emerald City broadcasting

With “Seattle Radio,” Arcadia Publishing strikes again in its unofficial radio history series, which is actually embedded in its Images of America series.

Author John Schneider, a frequent Radio World contributor and author of the earlier “Bay Area Radio,” performs the scholar’s task in relating the stories that make up Seattle’s radio history, starting in 1919 and getting to the 1970s or so.

The emphasis is more on the personalities — on air and the businessmen (and women). As standard with these books, it’s perhaps the rare pictures that are the true treasures. That these authors ferret them out is a testimony to the effort they put into the books.

Price: $21.99, 128 pages, 200 photographs.
