Ferncast released version 3.0 of its aixtream software, which includes support for SRT, DAB and MPE encapsulation.
Aixtream is scalable software running as a server or VM installation. It listed highlights of V3.0 as Secure Reliable Transport input and output; Simple Network Management Protocol monitoring up to v3; DAB reception and transcoding; DVB Multiprotocol Encapsulation ETSI EN 301 192; and internal Icecast server.
“Moreover, some other features have been added or improved in version 3.0,” it said. These include support for AAC ADTS (in addition to LATM/LOAS); recovery of unfinished recording file; service type for DVB configurable; an update of the Recorder Group widget; and bugfixes and other improvements
Looking ahead to version 3.1, Ferncast said aixtream will soon be able to function as a pure UECP encoder and will incorporate RDS improvements.
