ABC Radio Networks said it has an exclusive deal with SparkNet Communications to develop and market the trademarked Jack-FM format for national distribution.
The format is heard on 21 stations. ABC gets the rights to create, market and sell a produced and locally integrated broadcast of Jack-FM programming. The deal kicks in Oct. 1.
The network’s president, Jim Robinson, cited the format’s “explosive growth” and noted its “numerous imitators” in the announcement. But, he said, “none have the research and depth of the original.”
SparkNet was formed in July by Canadian firm Bohn & Associates Media and Wall Media in Nashville. The format was first aired by Rogers Broadcasting Ltd. in Vancouver in 2002.
