Abernathy Set for NAB Radio Show

Abernathy Set for NAB Radio Show

Among those set to appear at the fall NAB Radio Show is one of the FCC commissioners who supported the new ownership rules in the controversial June vote.
Kathleen Abernathy will discuss regulatory issues facing radio broadcasters during an FCC breakfast on Oct. 2. The NAB Radio Show will be held Oct. 1-3 in Philadelphia.
Republican Abernathy is no stranger to the agency. Prior to her appointment as commissioner in 2001 she held various positions at the FCC, including a stint as telecom legal advisor James H. Quello when he was interim chairman and also legal advisor to Commissioner Sherrie Marshall.
Abernathy’s most recent stint before returning to the agency was a lobbyist for BroadBand Office Communications Inc.
