FCC Commissioner Jonathan Adelstein plans to attend the first meeting of the Independent Spanish Broadcasters Association next week in Las Vegas. At its meeting in Las Vegas next Wednesday, ISBA members will elect a board of directors as well as a president and other officers. Members will also identify policy initiatives to be pursued in 2004. Commissioner Adelstein is expected to give welcoming comments to the ISBA attendees at 9 a.m.
Independent Spanish language networks, broadcast companies, financial institutions, and other service providers to the Spanish media industry formed ISBA. The association is open to Latino-owned TV and radio broadcasting companies and networks, as well as non-Latino broadcasters, addressing the growing Hispanic market in the United States. However, the primary membership focus will be independently owned, non-publicly traded, Spanish language broadcasting and media companies.
The meeting beginsa at 9 a.m. on Wednesday, April 21 in the Las Vegas Convention Center Room N261.
