The Alabama Broadcasters Association invites engineers and other station personnel to attend its free, two-day seminar covering the Alternative Broadcast Inspection Program, or ABIP.
The seminar, held Aug. 18–19 in Hoover, Ala., is part of the popular ABA Engineering Academy. According to organizers, the first day of the seminar will be the classroom and the second day will be in the field conducting mock inspections at AM, FM and television transmitter sites.
“Even if you are not involved in the actual inspection, this seminar will cover a lot of areas, both technical and legal, that will be beneficial to engineers,” said ABA Director of Engineering Services Larry Wilkins in a press release. “The items covered will help keep your entire operation in compliance with current FCC rules and regulations.”
Instructors include Wilkins, who is also the ABIP inspector for Alabama, and John George, the ABIP inspector for South Carolina.
The seminar isn’t just for people in Alabama. “It’s open for anyone, anywhere,” said Wilkins. “We already have people registered from several states.”
Those interested can register here. Seating is limited.
