Burk Names Contest Winner

The manufacturer had invited broadcasters to use built-in design tools to create a custom user interface for Burk’s Lynx 5, AutoPilot 3 and AutoPilot Plus remote monitoring control software.

Burk Technology announced the winner of the 2007 Custom Views Championship Contest.

The manufacturer had invited broadcasters to use built-in design tools to create a custom user interface for Burk’s Lynx 5, AutoPilot 3 and AutoPilot Plus remote monitoring control software.

Custom views provide operators with a means to view conditions at all sites on one screen with map views, drill-down alarm detail, summary information and the ability to add custom images and operating procedures.

Robert Yankowitz, RF systems manager for CBS Boston, submitted the winning entry. Yankowitz elected to receive a Burk Watchband AM/FM/RDS receiver for remote monitoring of market stations.

He designed a graphical representation of a tower light monitoring system for two stations. Operators can monitor and control tower lights and have immediate access to FAA contact information, tower locations and antenna registration numbers. The entry is part of a series of 14 custom views used to monitor eight transmitters at three different CBS Boston sites.
