Clear Channel Expands Sports Format in D.C.

Can a city with no baseball team support two Clear Channel sports talk stations?
Washington, D.C., is the market in question, where the mega-group will launch SportsTalk 1260 on WWRC(AM) this weekend.
The 5 kW signal now airs a CNN Radio format. Starting Saturday, it will switch to Fox Sports programming, some simulcasting of sister station WTEM and, according to Clear Channel Regional VP Bennett Zier, some high-school sports play-by-play.
