Clear Channel Names Strassell SVP of Programming

San Antonio picks Trevino as market president

Greg Strassell has been named Clear Channel Media and Entertainment’s senior vice president of programming. Strassell, who joins the company from CBS Radio, will help lead programming initiatives and will report to Matt Martin, president of operations for regional markets, according to a release.

At CBS Radio Strassell spent the past nine years as senior vice president of programming. He oversaw the programming strategies and teams with a special focus on the company’s pop music station expansion. Prior to CBS, he served as vice president of product development and programming for American Radio Systems. He also previously launched and programmed WBMX(FM), WZLX(FM) and WODS(HD) in Boston, WLOL(AM) in Minneapolis-St. Paul and WROK(AM)/WZOK(FM) in Rockford, Ill.

In other Clear Channel news, Marlene Trevino is joining Clear Channel Media and Entertainment San Antonio as its new market president. She will report to Kelly Kibler Owens, senior vice president of operations for Houston, Dallas, Austin and San Antonio.

As market president, Trevino will generate new revenue while providing quality programming and oversee the overall operations.

Trevino most recently worked at CBS Radio in Dallas as the general sales manager for KMVK(FM). She also previously worked at Radio One and Una Vez Mas an Azteca America Affiliate Group in Dallas. Trevino joined Clear Channel Dallas in 2002 as a senior account executive at KDMX(FM). She also served a variety of stations in the market as general sales manager until 2008.

Clear Channel San Antonio owns and operates KAJA(FM), KQXT(FM), KRPT(FM), KTKR(AM), KXXM(FM), KZEP(FM) and WOAI(AM).
