Senior vice president and general manager of Hartford/New Haven channel WFSB(TV) and Springfield, Mass. channel WSHM(TV), Klarn DePalma, was recently elected as chair of the Connecticut Broadcasters Association.
For almost 20 years, DePalma has been with WFSB-TV 3, part of the Meredith Broadcasting Group. Joining the station in 1993, he was promoted to local sales manager in 1998 and then to director of sales in 2002.
Three years later, DePalma again moved up at the station, this taking the reins as vice president/general manager, winning Broadcasting and Cable Magazine’s General Manager of the Year in 2010 for markets 26–50.
DePalma, a faculty member at Howard University in Washington, also serves on the Board of Trustees of the Connecticut Science Center, the Marketing Committee of The Bushnell Center for the Performing Arts and the Board of Directors of the Channel 3 Kids Camp.
A longtime member of the Connecticut Broadcasters Association, DePalma recently served as the statewide organization’s first vice chairman.
