Digidesign says Pro Tools 7 software is shipping for Pro Tools HD and Pro Tools LE systems, and Pro Tools 7 M-Powered will soon follow. The updates offer features such as expanded recording and editing capabilities for audio and MIDI, and mixing power.
“We’ve added new music creation tools such as Instrument Tracks for … integration of virtual instruments, non-destructive real-time MIDI processing and the ability to work with industry-standard REX and ACID files,” said Dave LeBolt, Digidesign general manager.
Pro Tools 7 also is a cross-platform release, supporting current Pro Tools systems running on Windows XP and Mac OS X Tiger computers.
Customers can choose to purchase a standard upgrade or the Pro Tools 7 Standard Upgrade Plus option for Pro Tools HD 7 and LE 7 systems. Upgrade Plus options offer the Pro Tools 7 software upgrade plus a choice of two plug-ins, and are available online or through a Digidesign reseller until Dec. 20.
