ENCO Names John Casey Director of Sales

He served as the Radio World publisher for two decades

Longtime Radio World publisher John Casey has joined automation specialist ENCO as director of sales. He will report to ENCO President Ken Frommert.

Casey most recently held the position of group publisher for the Media – Entertainment and Technology sector at Future plc, which acquired Radio World’s parent NewBay Media in spring 2018. Prior to that, he was publisher of Radio World for two decades.

Joining ENCO is a return to the technology sales side of the business for Casey. He served as vice president of sales and marketing at Telos Systems from 1997-1999 and held sales and marketing roles at Denon Electronics from 1994-1997. In the early ’90s Casey worked as a sales engineer for RE America (the U.S. division of Radiometer Electronics) and spent four years as an independent sales representative.

In the announcement, ENCO said that while his broadcast experience is valued, “John’s strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills will also be a substantial boost to growth in new verticals.” For instance, ENCO said its enCaption open captioning offering is finding attention in the commercial AV market as well as TV broadcast.

Radio World Managing Director of Content Paul McLane commented on his colleague’s move: “John’s imprint is all over the pages of Radio World. We have a great sales team here, and John leaves the publication in super hands. But we’ll miss him and we thank him for all his hard work. He remains a friend and part of the RW family.”

ENCO was founded in 1983 and is headquartered in Southfield, Mich.
