Entercom Communications has appointed Vince Richards as operations manager in Sacramento. The company also chose Brian Rooney for vice president and director of sales for the New York cluster. In Chicago, Kenny Jay has been named program director for WUSN(FM). Meanwhile, in the Chattanooga, Tenn., market Sean Stewart has been named PD and host of “Rock 105 Mornings With Sean Stewart” on WRXR(FM).
Richards will oversee programming duties for the cluster’s six stations: KRXQ(FM), KKDO(FM), KUDL(FM), KSEG(FM), KSFM(FM) and KIFM(AM).
He takes over programming duties from Jim Fox, who was recently named vice president of music programming at Entercom Dallas. Richards has held operations manager positions at Entercom Kansas City, as well as at iHeartMedia in Houston and Dallas. He was most recently national operations manager at Townsquare Media.
Rooney most recently served as VP of sales for WAXQ(FM), WOR(AM) and the New York Mets Radio Network from 2015–2017. Prior to that he was sales manager for WFAN in New York from 2007–2015.
Kenny Jay will oversee programming for the country music station and will report to Entercom Chicago VP of Programming Todd Cavanah. Cavanah will continue as PD of WBBM(FM) and WBMX(FM).
Prior to joining US*99, Jay was the PD for KMPS(FM) in Seattle. In 2012, Jay joined KMNB(FM) in Minneapolis as assistant PD and was later upped to PD in 2014.
Sean Stewart was previously the music director for WDOD(FM), and his new show will air from 6–10 a.m. and feature rock music and lifestyle topics of local interest.
